SUNDAY, Nov. 6
Carolina at Tampa Bay:
The Panthers just whipped Minnesota at home, but the Vikings are just 2-23 outdoors since 2001. For this game, Bud Selig will order the Bucs to keep the roof open.

Houston at Jacksonville: No team wanted to be the first this year to lose to the Texans. But the Browns took care of that. Now the Jags don’t want to be the first to lose a home game to the Texans.

Cincinnati at Baltimore: Even though the Bengals are the NFL’s darlings this year, they still haven’t beaten a good team. That trend will continue against the Ravens, one way or another.

Atlanta at Miami: Star power is the name of the game in the NFL, and a battle pitting Michael Vick against Ricky Williams looks like it might actually be as good on Sunday as it is in Madden ’06.

Detroit at Minnesota: A tale of two dome teams and two quarterbacks: Jeff Garcia is on the rise for the Lions, but the Vikings are sinking faster than one of Al and Alma’s boats after a knee injury suffered by Daunte Culpepper.

San Diego at NY Jets: The Jets can run the ball a little but can’t pass worth a lick. The Chargers can stuff the run, but are shaky against the pass. This must be what they mean by parity.

Tennessee at Cleveland:
The big question is how the Browns will respond after becoming the first team to lose to the Houston Texans. Fans in the Dawg Pound are frothing at the mouth in anticipation.

Oakland at Kansas City: The Raiders struggle on the road, having lost 17 of the last 20, though they won at Tennessee. Maybe they should stop traveling to games by Harley.

Seattle at Arizona: The Cardinals were the sexy pick at the beginning of the season to surprise everyone and make the playoffs. That pick looks fat and ugly now.

Chicago at New Orleans: The Bears are a respectable 4-3, even with rookie Kyle Orton at quarterback. O.K., maybe that White Sox magic is contagious. I just hope that doesn’t mean the Bears will embrace a Journey song, too.

NY Giants at San Francisco:
The Giants are for real. They crushed the Redskins, 36-0. Advice to Niners: Show a lot of Montana-to-Rice highlights this week. Can’t hurt.

Pittsburgh at Green Bay: Let’s see. The Steelers thumped the Bengals two weeks ago. Last week Brett Favre threw five picks in a loss to the Bengals. Question: Has any NFL QB ever thrown 10 interceptions in a game?

Philadelphia at Washington: D.C. has been caught up in a high-stakes game of intrigue and national embarrassment lately. That’s what happens when you lose, 36-0, to a division rival.

MONDAY, NOV. 7
Indianapolis at New England:
Peyton Manning probably had this one circled on his calendar since the end of last year. Unfortunately for him, Tedy Bruschi did also. And he’s back.
