APFinal days of a legend
The legend that is Brett Favre has been tossing touchdown after touchdown at Lambeau Field for the past 13 years. In his first year with the team, Favre stepped in as an injury replacement and won a game against Cincinnati in the fourth quarter.
It was the beginning of everything in Green Bay.
Well, it’s over now. Now that the end has come, the nostalgia pours in. Sunday, Favre, who is clearly in his final days with the Packers, plays the Bengals again.
It’s over for Favre in Green Bay because it can’t be anything else. Favre is still effective, but the team is worse than it ever has been with Favre at quarterback. The team has suffered too many injuries on offense and has a defense that would have trouble stopping the Houston Texans.
Favre has also talked about retiring in recent offfseasons. Why would he want to come back to this? The Packers aren’t an aspirin away from contending. There’s no quick fix in sight.
Why would Favre want to go elsewhere to chase another Super Bowl? He is a Packer and will always be one.
Texans on pace to run wrong side of table
Will the Houston Texans win a game this year?
We’ll have much better indications after Sunday.
The Texans, sporting an 0-6 record, host Cleveland. If it weren’t for the Texans, the Browns would be one of the premier jokes in then NFL.

Take a look at the Texans’ schedule. They still have some tough games remaining. They still have to face Jacksonville and Indianapolis on the road and Kansas City at home.
The Texans are going to blow up at the end of the season with coach Dom Capers likely on his way out and the remaining front office having to make final decision about quarterback David Carr, the former No. 1 overall pick whose development has stalled.
Things will only get uglier for the Texans from here on out.
