Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb won't react to reported comments from Terrell Owens until he talks to the wide receiver, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday.

Owens made a snide comment about McNabb, ESPN reported Tuesday, saying he "wasn't the guy who got tired in the Super Bowl."

Several media reports have said McNabb was either ill or tired late in the Super Bowl, leading wide receiver Freddie Mitchell to call a play in the huddle at one point. McNabb has denied those reports.

McNabb "doesn't know the context" of the comments and "would rather talk to T.O. about it" before commenting, agent Fletcher Smith said, the newspaper reported.

The quarterback probably won't call the receiver, but will bring it up when they see each other next, the agent said.

The Eagles are planning to treat the comment as humor, the Inquirer reported.

Owens' new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said the media are incorrectly assuming that Owens was criticizing McNabb.

"You're making an inference," Rosenhaus said, the newspaper reported. "Terrell didn't mention any names. Terrell made his comments. There's no need for me to explain or clarify anything."

Last week, Owens hired Rosenhaus as his new agent, prompting speculation that he wanted to rework his contract with the Eagles. Both the star wide receiver and Rosenhaus declined to comment about a new deal, ESPN reported.

"We'll just have to see what happens," Owens said, ESPN reported.

After being traded from the 49ers to the Eagles last offseason, Owens signed a seven-year, $48.97 million deal. The All-Pro receiver then played a big part in Philadelphia's reaching the Super Bowl, where they lost to New England. Owens missed the final part of the season and two playoff games with an ankle sprain and fractured leg. He returned for the Super Bowl, catching nine passes for 122 yards.
