REBOUNDING
Larry Bird was taller by an inch but 20 pounds lighter than James. He used timing and positioning to become a rebounding force. James uses strength and exceptional jumping ability that elevates him above a player like Charles Barkley in the board category.
In his ABA days, Julius Erving was an incredible rebounder at 6-7 who could outleap and outreach every player in the league. He once averaged 15.7 rebounds a game in a season. By the time Dr. J came to the NBA, he was more of a 6-8 rebounds-per-game player.
Jordan and Robertson were the premier rebounding guards in NBA history (swing-man John Havlicek deserves a nod, too), but they would have a tough time keeping James off the glass when the Cleveland star plays the off-guard position.
