Edgerrin James, the third member of the Indianapolis Colts' triplets with Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison, won't be going anywhere in the offseason, ESPN reported Sunday.
The Colts will place the franchise tag on James, who is eligible to become a free agent, ESPN reported, citing owner Jim Irsay.
The team signed Harrison to a seven-year, $67 million contract extension earlier this month. In the offseason, Manning signed a seven-year, $98 million deal.
The move would put an end to rumors that James, a graduate of Miami, would return to that city to play for the Dolphins. Miami has been desperate for a running back since the sudden retirement of Ricky Williams in July.
