The expectation is that Wilson will eventually sign a long-term extension with the Jets, so the team’s decision to exercise his fifth-year option, while not yet official, doesn’t come as a surprise. Through three seasons, Wilson has caught 279 passes for 3,249 yards and 14 touchdowns, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in every year of his young career. While the emerging star has at times voiced his displeasure about the offense/organization, most of his issues seemed to stem from Aaron Rodgers’ refusal to target him more in the passing game. With Rodgers now gone and a new regime in place, Wilson has said he would be open to an extension. The Jets exercising Wilson’s fifth-year option is just a step in the process.

Nothing is official yet, but this doesn’t come as a surprise. Gardner is arguably a top-five corner in the league despite a down 2024, and the Jets have long been expected to pick up his fifth-year rookie option as they look to move closer to a long-term extension with the former No. 4 overall pick. Through three seasons, Gardner has totaled three interceptions and 31 pass breakups, per PFF, while allowing just three receiving touchdowns over that span. A true definition of a shutdown corner, the Jets’ decision to pick up Gardner’s fifth-year option would keep him on a rookie deal through the 2026 season, but it will also come with a $20.1 million cap hit next year.

Schefter reports that “there still is a healthy dose of skepticism the Saints are interested in Shedeur Sanders,” with the No. 9 overall pick in this year’s draft, but suggests the team could look to trade up in the second round — something they’ve already explored — to perhaps acquire Dart on Day 2. The Saints have the draft capital to trade up in the second round if they hope to do so. In addition to holding the No. 40 pick, they also hold two third-round picks (No. 71 and No. 93) and two fourth-round picks (No. 112 and No. 131), which should be enough to facilitate a deal. Dart is a former four-star recruit and amassed nearly 12,000 career passing yards in four seasons while throwing 81 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. While he’s viewed by most media sources as the No. 3 quarterback in this class, some teams clearly have him ranked above Sanders.

According to Schefter, the Browns “inquired about the possibility of trading up from No. 2,” while the Giants put forth a “more persistent” offer to move up from the No. 3 overall pick. Schefter says the lack of perceived blue-chip QBs outside of Cam Ward has resulted in a relatively stagnant trade market for this year’s top picks, with Ward being the one quarterback teams are most interested in trading up for. It’s also worth remembering that Titans’ beat writer Terry McCormick reported nearly two weeks ago that the team was “sold on” Ward with the No. 1 overall pick. This feels like a done deal — and has felt that way for a month or so now — barring any unexpected developments between now and Thursday.

According to Schefter, the Falcons “have asked for a lot in return” for Cousins’ services, including the acquiring team paying $20 million of the $45 million in guaranteed money that’s left on his contract. Cousins will turn 37 before the start of the season and is coming off a disappointing season in which he tied for the league lead with 16 interceptions and saw himself benched in Week 16 in favor of rookie first-rounder Michael Penix. He also comes with a $45 million dead cap hit if he is released next offseason. While his best days are likely behind him, several QB-needy teams could benefit from adding Cousins. It seems to be harder to find a team that wants to pay Cousins what he’s worth and give the Falcons actual draft capital for the privilege.

Spytek philosophized on the running back position’s current state and celebrated his alma mater, the University of Michigan, for continuing to value the position. Although he refrained from opining on Jeanty, specifically, Spytek said, “when you sit, where we sit,” ostensibly referencing the No. 6 overall pick, “the idea is to add elite players at any position.” Jeanty certainly qualifies, and he would understand command a first-round fantasy pick were he to play under head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

Zrebiec couches this in a prediction that the Ravens will trade Andrews during the draft, but the way it is framed suggests the reporter doesn’t necessarily believe it will happen, as he says it “doesn’t feel likely.” The Ravens, per Zrebiec, want “strong value” in return for Andrews. With both Andrews and Dallas Goedert reportedly available, teams looking at the veteran tight ends are probably dealing from a position of strength at this point. Andrews remains a name to watch as we head into the final week before the draft.

Henderson is gaining steam as the draft approaches. He recently completed a visit with the Steelers, who pick one slot ahead of the Broncos in the first round. Widely considered a dual-threat running back, Henderson rushed for 3,761 yards and 42 touchdowns while at Ohio State and ran for 183-1,248-15 as a true freshman in 2021. “This is a really good fit for several reasons,” Underdog’s James Palmer said, adding that Denver head coach Sean Payton “puts a ton of value in pass protection,” an area in which Henderson excels. Henderson would instantly become Denver’s lead back over Jaleel McLaughlin if he lands with the Broncos.

Ravens senior special teams coach Randy Brown has traveled across the country in recent weeks scouting incoming kickers as Justin Tucker’s 2025 status remains in question. Sixteen massage therapists from Baltimore-area spas have accused Tucker of sexual misconduct. Tucker, 35, has denied the allegations as the league investigates. “Obviously, there are a lot of layers to that whole conversation, but it’s something we would have to do no matter what,” head coach John Harbaugh said. “At this point in time, you have to look. You always have to do your due diligence, so we will be prepared to do that on draft day if we feel like we need to and if the right guy is there.” The Ravens are the only team in the NFL to never take a kicker in the draft. That could change this year: The team is holding a private workout for Florida State’s Ryan Fitzgerald, who made all 13 of this field goal attempts last season and is widely expected to be the first kicker off the draft board.
