Tyson Ross turned in another solid spring outing on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and a pair of walks over his 4 2/3 innings of work.
The lone run came on a solo shot by Kelly Shoppach in the fifth inning, and was the first run allowed by Ross all spring. He walked one and struck out six on the evening. He had been scheduled to go six innings in the contest, but due to inefficiency with his pitches, was removed in the fifth inning when his pitch count hit 94. He's put himself in strong consideration for one of the fifth spot in the Padres' Opening Day rotation, and is certainly worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.
