David Phelps gives up five runs to Twins

David Phelps allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Twins.
Phelps struck out six tonight, but he allowed six hits and walked three along the way in failing to capitalize on Ivan Nova's mediocre outing last time out. Phelps needed to outpitch Nova by a substantial margin this spring if he hoped to claim a rotation spot. Since it hasn't happened, he'll probably go back into a swingman role.
