Ryan Madson (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Thursday.
As long as he doesn't feel more tightness between now and Sunday, he'll throw another bullpen session that day. It's not clear when Madson will be cleared for game action, but he will not be ready for the start of the season and in all likelihood will miss most of April. Ernesto Frieri is the early-season favorite for save chances with the Angels.
