Owner Jerry Jones hinted Tuesday that the Cowboys are closing in on an extension with Tony Romo.
Per NFL.com, the sides have "been talking." Despite a wave of releases and restructurings, the Cowboys are still right up against the salary cap, and can't make any more moves until they reduce Romo's $16.8 million cap charge. Romo's new deal will likely be good for at least 3-4 additional years, and include somewhere in the ballpark of $30-$40 million guaranteed.
