Rockies ink RHP Alvarado to minors deal

Rockies signed RHP Giancarlo Alvarado to a minor league contract.
The deal was agreed to before the World Baseball Classic, so Alvarado will join the team after he pitches for Puerto Rico in Tuesday's WBC final against the Dominican Republic. The 35-year-old has spent the past three seasons with the spent the Yokohama Bay Stars of Japan's Central League.
