Packers president Mark Murphy confirms signing Aaron Rodgers to a long-term contract extension before the start of the season is a "priority."
"I think as an organization, I think we all want to see that get done," Murphy said. The Packers have spent the entire offseason clearing cap space, letting veterans walk while declining to get in the mix on blue-chip free agents. It's possible both Rodgers and Clay Matthews will be locked up before Week 1. Rodgers is signed through 2014. Matthews is entering the final year of his rookie deal.
