David Phelps had a tough outing Saturday, giving up four runs in five innings against the Braves.
It was a step in the wrong direction for the 26-year-old, who had a 0.64 ERA this spring before Saturday's start. The righty did strike out six batters to go along with the seven hits allowed in the game. Phelps, Ivan Nova and Phil Hughes are competing for the final two spots in the Yankees rotation, and with Hughes' injury struggles this spring it's possible Phelps starts the season in the rotation despite Saturday's setback.
