Giants ink Brandon Myers to replace Bennett
Brandon Myers - TE - New York Giants
March 17, 2013 - 8:40 AM ET

Giants signed TE Brandon Myers, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year contract.

After losing Martellus Bennett to the Bears, Myers will likely open 2013 as the Giants' new starter, ahead of raw 2012 fourth-rounder Adrien Robinson. It's a solid, low-risk signing by the G-Men. Myers broke out last season as an efficient underneath option for Carson Palmer, securing career bests in catches (79), yards (806), and touchdowns (4). His 78-percent catch rate led the NFL among tight ends with at least 50 targets. Myers is a poor blocker, but he could push for 6-8 TD catches as a reliable red-zone presence for Eli Manning.
