Jairus Byrd expected to seek $8M annually
Jairus Byrd - DB - Buffalo Bills
March 10, 2013 - 2:35 PM ET

BuffaloBills.com expects franchise player Jairus Byrd to push for a long-term deal averaging at least $8 million annually.

Beat writer Chris Brown cites Eric Weddle's five-year, $40 million contract with a $13 million signing bonus as Byrd's target deal. Byrd was franchised last week, and the two sides will have until July 15 to negotiate a long-term deal once Byrd signs the tender. Byrd is arguably the top free safety in the league.
