A-Gone goes deep as Mexico tops Team USA

Adrian Gonzalez clubbed a two-run home run off R.A. Dickey as Mexico defeated Team USA 5-2 on Friday night in the World Baseball Classic.

He also walked twice. A-Gone had an RBI groundout in the first inning, so he actually drove in three of Mexico's five runs. The two-run shot in the third inning had to be confirmed by instant replay. Yovani Gallardo gave up one run over 3 1/3 innings win the win while the bullpen held Team USA to just one run. Sergio Romo, who threw 26 pitches on Thursday, worked a 1-2-3 ninth for the save. Mexico is now 1-1 in Pool D action and will square off against Canada on Saturday afternoon.
