Report: KC still eyeing long-term Albert deal
Branden Albert - T - Kansas City Chiefs
March 8, 2013 - 12:45 PM ET

NFL.com reports the Chiefs still hope to sign franchise player LT Branden Albert to a long-term deal.

Per reporter Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are still operating under the assumption that Albert is their "left tackle of the future." Using the No. 1 overall draft pick on a right tackle would be unprecedented. Per franchise-tag rules, Albert and the Chiefs have until July 15 to hammer out a long-term agreement.
