Notre Dame freshman QB Gunner Kiel intends to transfer to a different program, according to the Irish Sports Daily.
"His motives for transferring or his future plans aren't immediately clear," the report states. "One source claims Notre Dame would leave the door open for Kiel possibly changing his mind and sticking out in South Bend." The Irish would love to have him back, but they understand things don't always work out. Kiel spent the season on the Irish scout team and flashed arm strength and accuracy, but was unlikely to challenge sophomore Everett Golson. Out of high school, Kiel was set on attending LSU, but changed his mind out of nowhere and moved north to South Bend.
