Kaleb Cowart went 2-for-2 with a bases-clearing double Wednesday in an exhibition game against Italy.
To be fair, Chris Denorfia likely would have caught the ball if he didn't take a bad route, but it will go down as a double in the box score. Regarded as the Angels' third baseman of the future, Cowart batted .276/.358/.452 with 16 home runs and an .810 OPS last season between Class-A Cedar Rapids and High-A Inland Empire. Baseball America recently ranked him as the game's No. 67 prospect.
