Teixeira out 8-10 weeks with strained wrist
Mark Teixeira - 1B - New York Yankees
March 6, 2013 - 4:40 PM ET

Mark Teixeira was diagnosed with a strained right wrist and will miss 8-10 weeks.

Ouch. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Teixeira will be shut down completely for four weeks before rehabbing the wrist. The estimated timetable places his return somewhere in early-to-late May. The Yankees' current in-house alternatives for first base include Juan Rivera, Dan Johnson and Kevin Youkilis.
