The Nashville Tennessean confirms the Titans are still working to re-sign free agent Jared Cook, but that the sides "haven't been close on money."
Beat writer Jim Wyatt expects the sides to negotiate up until Tuesday's start of free agency, but it doesn't sound like a deal will be reached. The Titans' chances of keeping Cook will be low if he hits the market, as he appears poised to draw heavy interest from a bevy of deep-pocketed teams. If the money is equal, the Titans will have a history of underutilization of Cook working against them.
