Report: Dashon Goldson wants $8 million/year
Dashon Goldson - DB - San Francisco 49ers
March 4, 2013 - 1:00 AM ET

An NFL official told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that free agent FS Dashon Goldson is seeking $8 million per year.

Sounds about right. Eric Berry ($12 million annually) and Troy Polamalu ($9.125 million) are the NFL's two highest paid safeties. Behind them are Eric Weddle and Michael Huff, each making $8 million per year. Goldson intends to become one of the league's top-five highest paid safeties. It remains to be seen whether the 49ers are willing to meet Goldson's contract demands. They are not expected to franchise tag Goldson for the second straight year.
