Panthers to explore WRs Hixon and Barden

The Charlotte Observer expects the Panthers to explore free agent WRs Ramses Barden and Domenik Hixon.
Connecting these dots is easy. New GM Dave Gettleman came over from the Giants and knows Hixon and Barden quite well. Beat writer Joe Person suspects Barden "could thrive" in Carolina's vertical passing game. Last season, Barden had the best game of his career in Week 3 in Carolina, catching nine passes for 138 yards -- albeit against oft-burned Panthers rookie CB Josh Norman.
