Darin Mastroianni's sore left hamstring is expected to keep him out of action until the middle or end of next week.
Despite missing a few more games, the injury is not thought to be too serious. The 27-year-old stole 21 bases in 24 attempts last season, so he'll need the hamstring to be near full-strength to be as effective as he can be going forward. With the offseason trades of Denard Span and Ben Revere, Mastroianni is battling for a starting outfield spot this spring.
