Irsay: Third pick or lower and Peyton stayed
Peyton Manning - QB - Denver Broncos
March 2, 2013 - 1:40 PM ET

Owner Jim Irsay said that the Colts would have kept Peyton Manning had they earned the draft's third overall pick or lower in 2012.

Instead, they went 2-14 and drafted Andrew Luck at No. 1. "There's this myth that there's no loyalty in football," Irsay said. "Well, there's tremendous loyalty and emotion and respect that go into the coaches and players you've gone into battle with." John Elway is happy with the way things turned out.
