The NFL Players Association is backing free agent Jared Cook as he attempts to argue he's a wide receiver -- not a tight end.
Per Mike Clay's 2012 charted stats, Cook played 67 percent of his snaps in the slot and three percent outside. So he's going to have a very strong case. The franchise tag for a receiver is $10.537 million, and the tight-end tag is $6.066 million. We suspect the sides will wind up meeting somewhere in the middle.
