Raiders' Geno interest likely a 'smokescreen'
Geno Smith - QB - College Player
March 2, 2013 - 12:50 PM ET

CSN Bay Area agrees with the Contra Costa Times that Oakland's purported interest in West Virginia QB Geno Smith is likely just a "smokescreen."

Reporter Paul Gutierrez believes the Raiders' "most likely and logical move" is to trade down from No. 3, and feigning interest in the draft's top quarterback is one way to create a market. We wouldn't rule out the Raiders taking another stab at finding a franchise quarterback, but Smith would be a reach at No. 3.
