Max Stassi had sports hernia surgery on Thursday.
Stassi is hoping to be recovered by the start of the minor league season, but that's not a sure thing. The 21-year-old catcher batted .268/.331/.468 with 15 home runs and 45 RBI in 84 games last season at High-A Stockton. He should make the jump to Double-A sometime in 2013.
