Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Eduardo Nunez will not be used in the outfield following the Curtis Granderson (forearm) injury.
"I don't think he profiles as an outfielder with the bat," Cashman said. Nunez has been used at five different positions during his time with the Yankees, including in left and right field. The Bombers want him to focus on shortstop, though, and, as Cashman mentioned, his bat is a little light for a corner outfield spot, anyway. The Yankees for now will look internally for options to cover left field while Granderson is out.
