The New York Daily News expects the Giants to give restricted free agent Victor Cruz a first-round tender.
Despite Cruz's sizable talents, no team is going to give up a first-round pick and then meet his contract demands. Therefore, he's going to be a Giant in 2013 either via a new long-term deal or the $2.879 million tender. "Hopefully we can end that talk soon, man," Cruz said. "Hopefully we can get a deal done, if not with the Giants then unfortunately somewhere else. But I want to be a Giant for a long time, so we'll see how it goes." If he plays out 2013 on the one-year tender, he'll hit unrestricted free agency in 2014.
