Astros infielder Marwin Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a double on Monday and is 5-for-8 to start the spring.
Gonzalez spent all of last season in the majors because he was a Rule 5 pick, but until the Jed Lowrie trade, expectations were that he'd head to Triple-A to open 2013. Now he has a legitimate chance of winning the shortstop job over Tyler Greene. Greene, for what little it's worth, struck out three times today and is 0-for-5 so far.
