'Little doubt' 49ers will trade Alex Smith
Alex Smith - QB - San Francisco 49ers
Feb. 25, 2013 - 4:10 PM ET

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Profootballtalk.com that there's "little doubt" Alex Smith will be traded once teams near the start of the new league year.

The date is March 12. Smith is owed a $1 million roster bonus on the third day of the new league year, and he'll almost certainly be off San Francisco's roster by then. All signs continue to point to Smith quarterbacking Andy Reid's offense in Kansas City. We suspect the price tag will be a fourth-round draft pick.
