Steelers have not approached Colon on pay cut
Willie Colon - T - Pittsburgh Steelers
Feb. 24, 2013 - 9:35 AM ET

The Steelers have not approached LG Willie Colon about taking a pay cut.

Colon is due $5.5 million in the third year of a five-year deal, and Pittsburgh is expected to release him as they search for more athletic linemen. His release would save the team $1.9 million on the cap. Colon performed well, but a knee injury cut his season short. The soon-to-be 30-year-old should have no problem finding work if released. The Bears showed interest in Colon prior to 2011.
