According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers and manager Don Mattingly have had discussions regarding a contract extension.
Mattingly has been a popular name when discussing managers on the hot seat in 2013, so an extension would certainly end those conversations. As it stands, he is entering the third and final year of his three-year contract. Extension or not, there is a lot of pressure on Mattingly to succeed in 2013 given the Dodgers' $230 million payroll.
