Lions could save $2.45M by cutting Scheffler
Tony Scheffler - TE - Detroit Lions
Feb. 23, 2013 - 1:40 PM ET

The Lions could save $2.45 million against the cap by releasing Tony Scheffler.

The cap-strapped Lions have plenty of options when trying to knock their 2013 cap figures down, but MLive.com mentions Scheffler and Shaun Hill as candidates to be cut. Hill's release would save $2.75 million. Scheffler underwhelmed late in the season when asked to step in for injured Brandon Pettigrew.
