Dr. James Andrews says Robert Griffin III (knee surgery) is "way ahead of schedule" in his recovery, and that the Redskins sometimes need to "hold him back."
"We've got him well on his way," Andrews said. "He's an unbelievable athlete, as you well know. His recovery is way ahead of schedule so far. We don't have to do much but try to hold him back, if you want to know the truth." Griffin has pledged not to "compromise" his career by rushing to match Adrian Peterson's timetable, but at least so far, he's matching it anyway. With Griffin still in the embryonic stages of recovery and Week 1 nearly seven months away, it remains too early to speculate on a concrete return date.
