Free agent Dwight Freeney mentioned the Jets as a potential landing spot as the March 12 signing period approaches.
"Playing in New York," said Freeney, "that is obviously something that's very attractive." Financially, the Jets are in no position to sign high-priced, aging free agents, and Freeney would be a questionable schematic fit. He struggled in Chuck Pagano's defense last year and Rex Ryan runs the same scheme.
