The Detroit Free Press says the Lions would like to re-sign free agent FS Louis Delmas to a short-term deal.
If Delmas hadn't missed 13 games over the last two seasons due to injury, he'd be a candidate for a lucrative long-term contract. When healthy, he's a difference-maker in a secondary desperate for talent. However, the Lions say they won't even use the one-year, $6.8 million franchise tender on Delmas. ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio says he "could be this decade's Bob Sanders."
