Contract talks between the Ravens and free agent Joe Flacco could resume later this week at the Combine.
According to the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens still haven't decided if they will use the exclusive franchise tag or less cumbersome non-exclusive tag. The non-exclusive tag would allow Flacco to negotiate with other clubs, though any team that signs Flacco to an offer sheet would have to surrender two first-round picks if the Ravens chose not to match. There's a wide belief around the league Flacco would draw interest if slapped with the non-exclusive tag. The Ravens have between now and March 4 to apply the tag. We ultimately expect them to play things safe and go with the exclusive tag.
