Rick Porcello told the Detroit Free Press that he's "not even considering" the possibility that he could open this season in the bullpen

"I'm not even thinking about it, Porcello said. "I believe that I'm an established starter and belong in the starting rotation, and that's what I'm thinking about. I'm preparing to start." Porcello has been on the trade block since the Tigers re-signed Anibal Sanchez earlier this offseason, and could still be shopped before Opening Day. However, he could be asked to move to the bullpen if Drew Smyly beats him out for the final spot in the starting rotation. Porcello allowed the highest batting average of any full-time starting pitcher in the AL last season.
