The Washington Times expects free agent Fred Davis to reach the open market.
Redskins GM Bruce Allen hinted Thursday that Davis remains in the team's plans, but it doesn't appear a deal is imminent as Davis makes his way back from a torn Achilles' tendon. Even though he's coming off major injury, the Redskins would be running a real risk of losing Davis if they let him reach free agency. Washington is well over the cap, and even a rehabbing Davis would likely draw strong interest in a league with an increasing thirst for pass-catching tight ends.
