Timetable for Fred Davis' return uncertain

Redskins GM Bruce Allen says the team won't be able to gauge the extent of free agent Fred Davis' (Achilles) recovery until later this spring.
"Later this spring" would be well into the free agency period, so the Redskins may be planning to re-sign Davis. A high-risk signing, he may have to settle for an incentive-laden contract. Davis tore the tendon in Week 7, and could end up starting the season on PUP. He currently checks in as our No. 2 free-agent tight end.
