The San Jose Mercury News says the Raiders are keeping an "open mind" when it comes to their starting quarterback.
Same story as we've heard since the season ended, just different wording. The San Francisco Chronicle recently called Carson Palmer a "core player," but GM Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen have repeated there will be "competition" at quarterback. If Palmer restructures his deal -- he's due a $13 million salary -- then he could lock himself into the Week 1 starting job.
