Parnell to be closer if Francisco is hurt

Mets manager Terry Collins called Bobby Parnell on Tuesday night to inform him that he will be the closer if Frank Francisco (elbow) isn't ready for the season.
Collins said as much on WFAN yesterday, but he didn't get around to telling Parnell until last night. The 28-year-old right-hander has struggled in previous opportunities at closer, but there's no question that he has the talent to run away with the job. Track Francisco's progress during spring training, but Parnell could be a nice late-round selection in mixed fantasy leagues.
