The Cowboys' 10 highest paid players will count approximately $89.6 million against the salary cap in 2013.
It's not a good situation for a team that's roughly $20 million over the projected cap of $121 million. The Cowboys can free up a good chuck of change by releasing players like RT Doug Free and NT Jay Ratliff, but restructuring Tony Romo's contract and extending him beyond 2013 figures to be a priority. Romo is currently set to count $16.8 million against the cap.
