Sale to be eased into spring training action

White Sox manager Robin Ventura reiterated plans Saturday to ease Chris Sale into his spring regimen in order to preserve his health.
Ventura will take the same approach with young starter Jose Quintana and recovering left-hander John Danks. Sale saw a massive increase in his workload in 2012, tossing a career-high 192 innings, so it makes sense to ease him back into action. He has gained 10-15 pounds this offseason in an effort to be stronger for the 2013 campaign, and should be expected to pitch around 200 innings.
