Kyuji Fujikawa said Saturday that he isn't focused on replacing Carlos Marmol as Cubs' closer.
"My job is to get outs and as I do that, I'll try to make it a tougher decision for the coaches to make," said Fujikawa. Marmol is expected to open the season as the closer, but given his past struggles and the Cubs' efforts to deal him over the winter, his leash will be extra short. Fujikawa has been one of the dominant closers in Japan for the past few years, so we expect he'll get a shot at some point in 2013.
