Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN writes that the Twins haven't completely ruled out signing free agent Scott Podsednik, but "nothing is close to being imminent."
Podsednik didn't appear in the majors in 2011, but hit .302/.322/.352 in 63 games with the Red Sox last season. If signed, he figures to serve as veteran insurance after Minnesota traded away Denard Span and Ben Revere this offseason. The Twins are also expected to give prospect Aaron Hicks a chance to earn a starting job in spring training.
