The Jets' organization is reportedly "high" on restricted free agent RT Austin Howard and intends to extend him a pricey tender.
Since Howard was originally undrafted, the Jets would need to slap him with at least a second-round tender to comfortably retain him. Howard, 26 in March, graded out in 2012 as Pro Football Focus' No. 31 offensive tackle, and as a top-eight run blocker. They credited Howard with ten sacks allowed, a high total.
