The Detroit News expects the Lions to "make a push" to re-sign free agent safeties Louis Delmas and Amari Spievey.
Both players were racked by injury in 2012, but represent familiar, veteran options for a secondary that was in total disarray last season. Spievey is a restricted free agent, and won't be a complicated case if the Lions are serious about keeping him. Limited to 19 total games the past two seasons, Delmas will be a tougher negotiation. In theory, he's a viable candidate for the franchise tag, but GM Martin Mayhew has said he has "no plans" to use the tag.
